“Outlaw Country” to do pilot reshoots
June 18th, 2011 @ 09:49 am › 5 comments
According to Deadline.com FX ordered rewrites and reshoots of “Outlaw Country”:
FX’s pilot Outlaw Country is undergoing a retooling. The original script, written by Josh Goldin and Rachel Abramowitz, has been given a rewrite by Goldin, Abramowitz and Outlaw Country’s executive producer/co-showrunner David Manson. There will be substantial reshoots, which will be directed by actor-helmer Adam Arkin. Arkin is stepping in for the original pilot’s director Michael Dinner, who would’ve done the reshoots had he not been busy with another FX pilot he is directing, Powers. There won’t be major recastings on the project, a crime thriller/family drama set against the backdrop of Southern organized crime and Nashville royalty that stars Luke Grimes, Haley Bennett, Mary Steenburgen and John Hawkes. I hear a couple of small new roles have been added and another small part, played in the original pilot by Lisa Blount, will be recast following the actress’ death.
Getting Outlaw Country off the ground has been a long and arduous process. FX greenlighted the project to pilot last April and filmed the pilot last fall. The network has showed faith in the drama — FX president John Landgraf recently listed Outlaw Country, along with Powers, as candidates for a series launch in the winter. Also proving FX’s commitment to the Nashville-set Outlaw Country is its major additional investment in the project in the form of a rewrite and extensive reshoots. In addition to getting paid for the new pilot, the cast also have had their options extended through December. FX has a history of tweaking its pilots, including reshooting substential parts of them, before ordering them to series. It happened with Sons of Anarchy, whose reshoots were done by Dinner, and, most recently, with Lights Out. Arkin, who has a role on hit Sons of Anarchy, has directed episodes of several FX series, including SOA, Justified and Terriers. Art Linson and John Linson executive produceOutlaw Country, which is produced by Fox TV Studios and FX Prods.
This is good news, if FX wasn’t interested in ordering “Outlaw Country” to series they wouldn’t spend all these money on reshooting the episode.

Good news!! Luke has been casted in a new pilot!
Luke Grimes and Haley Bennett have landed the younger leads on the FX drama pilot Outlaw Country, joining previously cast Mary Steenburgen. Additionally, Michael Dinner has come on board to direct the pilot, a crime thriller/family drama set against the backdrop of southern organized crime and Nashville royalty. Grimes (Brothers & Sistsers) will play twentysomething Eli Larkin, a half-cowboy, half-modern guy who tries to get out of the crime ridden life he has grown accustom to in order to help his siblings, however he finds out that it is much harder than he expected. Bennett (Marley & Me) will play twentysomething Annabel Lee, a gorgeous country singer who is living in the shadow of her overprotective mother (Steenburgen).

“Brothers & Sisters” departure – official confirmation
April 27th, 2010 @ 11:18 am › 3 comments
EW’s Michael Ausiello confirmed what E! Online’s Kristen said a few months ago:
Gilles Marini, who plays Sarah’s Harlequin-esque French beau, will be returning next season as a full-time series regular, according to showrunner David Marshall Grant. But while Sarah will be gaining a steady companion, she’ll be losing a sibling: Grant also confirms that Luke Grimes has completed his run as Walker half-brother Ryan.
The site will of course remain open and I’ll try to update as often as possible, but as we all know Luke tends to avoid the photographers so the site probably won’t be updated as much as you (and I) would like to.
“Brothers & Sisters”: bad news

According to E! Online’s Kristin:
What happend to Ryan (Luke Grimes) on Brothers & Sisters? He is a regular but only appeared in 5 out of 15 episodes so far…
According to sources, he is being “phased out.” I’m told “he didn’t really fit with the cast from the very beginning.” Maybe Rob Lowe can get him a new gig wherever he ends up?

New “Brothers & Sisters” spoilers about Ryan
December 2nd, 2009 @ 11:52 pm › 0 comments
According to Fancast:
I need scoop on ‘Brothers & Sisters.’ I am so sick of that rogue half-brother Ryan messing up Ojai foods and wine. When will he get his comeuppance? – tvobsessed
File this one under good news/bad news: A source assures me that Ryan will get his comeuppance… but somehow grows closer to the Walker family as the result of it! In fact, I hear that his continued presence in the Walkers’ world may wind up saving someone’s life.
And according to a review on All the Shades of Grey, Luke won’t be in this Sunday’s midseason finale.
Brothers & Sisters is scheduled to return on January 3, 2010 at 10/9c on ABC.
